Through Action.coop, members of electric cooperatives nationwide can send a message to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and lawmakers in Washington that the Clean Power Plan could be detrimental to electric costs and reliability. The Clean Power Plan seeks to limit carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from existing coal-fired power plants but fails to consider the costs to consumers and the economy as a whole.

Bentley voiced his support of fossil-fired generation in Alabama, saying he was in favor of using the state’s natural resources to generate affordable energy in an environmentally responsible manner.
