CAEC Lineman Scholarship Fund

Benefit Fishing Tournament:

On October 22, 2022, CAEC and Central Access will host a benefit fishing tournament to raise monies for the Lineman Scholarship Fund. The tournament will take place at Lake Mitchell at Higgins Ferry, beginning at safe daylight until 2 PM. All proceeds go to the CAEC Lineman Scholarship Fund. Registration is now open! You can preregister by filling out the form below and mailing in the form and registration fee by Oct. 14, 2022. You can also register on the day of the event at 4 AM.

Applications for the CAEC Lineman Scholarship will be available December and close in March. The scholarship will be awarded in May. We awarded our first scholarship in 2022. Read more about the recipient here.

To help those who are wanting to take this career path, Central Alabama Electric Cooperative has established the CAEC Lineman Scholarship for persons who are seeking training to become an electrical line worker and meet the eligibility requirements. One award of up to $5,000 will be made annually.

Criteria for the scholarship is as follows:

•Candidate must have a High School Diploma or equivalent GED and be at least 18 years of age by the start date of the course. The scholarship is not limited to High School Seniors.

•Candidate must reside within one of the 10 counties served by CAEC or Montgomery county, and the candidate is not required to be a current CAEC member.

•Candidate must possess a valid Alabama driver’s license.

•Candidate must be eligible to obtain a CDL driver’s license.
