This year’s Annual Meeting and Member Appreciation Day, held on Friday, Aug. 8, once again offered CAEC members the same opportunities for food, fun and fellowship – but with a twist!
Not only did the event change venues – moving to Jeff State Community College in Clanton – but it also transformed into a carnival packed with games, prizes, bounce houses, food and numerous entertainment options.
“After last year’s Annual Meeting, we surveyed our members to find out what they truly wanted to gain from an event like this,” said CAEC President and CEO, Tom Stackhouse. “We tried something new this year, and we were blown away by the member response it received. We are thankful for every single member who showed up in person or virtually to participate in this year’s Annual Meeting.”
Members could cast their votes in this year’s Board of Trustee election and, whether attending in person or virtually, hear updates on CAEC and Central Access. Attendees had the chance to participate in a variety of carnival-themed games while also enjoying fresh popcorn and cotton candy, grilled hot dogs, photo booths, balloon animals, a magic show and so much more.
The final portion of the event included the business meeting, where the results from the 4,814 ballots cast were announced, confirming the re-election of Trustees Mark S. Presnell, District 2 – Wetumpka; Nicole Law, District 5 – Titus; Mark Gray, District 9 – Clanton; and Charles Byrd, At-Large – Deatsville.
“Annual Meeting is the event I look forward to most each year, and I hope we have a great number of members join us again next year,” said Stackhouse.
CAEC’s 2026 Annual Meeting will be held on Aug. 7 at 17 Springs in Millbrook. See you next year!
