
Chairman
Mark S. Presnell, Sr., resident of Wetumpka, was appointed to the Board of Trustees for Central Alabama Electric Cooperative in January 2010. He was elected to serve as Secretary/Treasurer in August 2015 until August 2021 and currently serves as Board Chairman. He has earned his Credentialed Cooperative Director and Board Leadership certificates, as well as the Director Gold certificate awarded from the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. Presnell, along with the other CAEC Trustees, serves on the only Board in the nation to be 100 percent Board member commitment at the Leadership Circle level and at the President’s Club level to the nonpartisan Political Action Committee, known as PAC.
Presnell served on the Board of Central Access, Inc., the broadband subsidiary of CAEC from August 2019-2022.
Presnell moved from his birthplace of Panama City, FL, to Elmore County in 1962. As an entrepreneur, he established Mark’s Service Center and Body Shop, Inc. in 1985. In addition, he owns and manages a 62-unit self-storage business in Wetumpka.
Presnell has served on multiple local boards and committees, including the Wetumpka Area Chamber of Commerce, former President; Wetumpka Lions Club, former President; Colonial Bank, former Board Member; Wetumpka Planning Board, former Chairman; City of Wetumpka Industrial Development Board, former Board Member; and Hohenburg Field Stadium Foundation Committee, former Board Member.
He and his wife of 46 years, Cindy, have one son, Mark Jr., who is married to the former Andrea Haynes of Wetumpka; granddaughter, Marlee Sanders Presnell; grandson, Ryver Stone Presnell. They attend Brush Poppers Cowboy Church.
