Justin Barrett

District 3 – Wetumpka

Justin Barrett, a resident of Wetumpka, was elected to CAEC’s Board of Trustees to fill the position formerly held by retiree, Patsy Holmes. He began his term of service on February 28, 2023. Barrett has since earned the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Credentialed Cooperative Director and Board Leadership certificates. Barrett and spouse (Jordan), along with the other CAEC Trustees, serve on the only Board in the nation to be 100 percent Board member commitment at the Leadership Circle level to the nonpartisan Political Action Committee (PAC).

Justin served on the Board of Cooperative Utility Services, LLC (CUS) from August 2024-August 2026.  He currently serves on the Board of Central Access, Inc., the broadband subsidiary of CAEC.

Justin serves as a managing member and partner of Bar Neal Farms, LLC and Bar J Farms. Barrett is a graduate of Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Biosystems Engineering.  He serves on the Executive Committee for the Elmore County Economic Development Authority and has held many leadership roles for organizations such as the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association and ALFA Farmers Federation. Barrett has served on numerous committees including the Advisory Council of Auburn University Biosystems Engineering and the Executive Committee for the Alabama Public Works Associations. Barrett served as City Engineer for the City of Wetumpka, managing the Building Department, Infrastructure Projects and Community Relationships.  As an engineer and 4th generation farmer, Barrett is passionate about serving his community alongside fellow leaders by contributing his knowledge of the agricultural, engineering, environmental and community sectors.

He and his wife have three children: Brantley, Nealy, and Hardy. They are members of First Baptist Church in Wetumpka. He and his family operate a diversified beef cattle and farming operation based in Wetumpka.
