2016, the substation was constructed to help CAEC members in Lowndes County who were previously being served from the cooperative’s Prattville Substation in Autauga County.

“The new substation will allow for increased efficiency for Lowndes County members, particularly during restoration efforts,” said CAEC President and CEO Tom Stackhouse.

It is also hoped the new substation will play a vital role in furthering economic development efforts in the area. Lowndes County Industrial Development Authority members David Hutchinson and Gary Faulkner as well as Lowndes County Commissioner Robert Harris attended the event with CAEC employees and Board Members.
