Crews Sent to Assist South Alabama Storm Recovery

On Sunday April 26, Central Alabama Electric Cooperative (CAEC) released two construction crews with eight co-op employees to assist our sister cooperative, Wiregrass Electric Cooperative in Dothan, Ala., in restoring power to the more than 9,500 members without power due to severe storms causing damage to lines, poles and other equipment.

The crews and six trucks departed for the co-op, which serves 22,000 members, and joined additional cooperatives aiding in the power restoration efforts. Crews returned home on Tuesday, April 28.

Alabama is part of a nationwide network of nearly 1,000 electric cooperatives that come together to assist each other in times of disaster.
