CAEC sent aid for Hurricane Michael Restoration

On Thursday morning, Oct. 11, CAEC released 16 journeyman linemen and two warehousemen accompanied with equipment to assist Wiregrass Electric Cooperative, in Hartford, Ala., in the restoration of widespread power outages following high winds and flooding associated with Hurricane Michael.

Eight days later on Oct. 19, CAEC crews were then dispatched to West Florida Electric Cooperative to help with restoration efforts from Hurricane Michael. Crews were rotated during this time, until all crews returned home on Saturday, Nov. 3, a full 23 days after restoration efforts began.

Alabama is part of a nationwide network of nearly 1,000 electric cooperatives that come together to assist each other in times of disaster.
